Classical Ballet of Colorado
Continuing the finest traditions of Russia's Imperial Ballet School and the Mariinsky Theatre, which gave the classical ballet world such renowned dancers and choreographers as Anna Pavlova, George Balanchine, Vaslav Nijinski, Mikhail Fokine, Rudolph Nureyev, Mikhail Baryshnikov and Natalya Makarova among others.
Classical Ballet of Colorado (CBC) under the direction of Elizabeth Shipiatsky trains its students in ballet technique, character dance, classical variations, repertoire, pas de deux and proper stretching. The aim of CBC is to produce dancers possessing a strong, clean classical technique with great emphasis on artistry, musicality, purity of line, coordination and a quality of movement that is free of mannerisms.
CBC teaches all ballet classes in the Vaganova Method. The Vaganova Method is the most respected and comprehensive method of classical ballet training, which for many years has produced many of the world's leading dancers.
CBC students are technically strong and artistically advanced. Most of our experienced students have been accepted at such prestigious schools as the Boston Ballet, the San-Francisco Ballet, the Kirov Ballet, Washington D.C., School of American Ballet, Houston Ballet, Bolshoi Summer Intensive, New York, Bolshoi Academy, Moscow, Russia, and the American Ballet Theatre.
